American Humanics, Inc. (AH) is a national organization in partnership with individuals and institutions dedicated to making a difference. An alliance of over 75 academic institutions and over 15 of our nation’s largest and most respected youth and human service organizations, AH offers an innovative program to prepare students in meaningful careers with youth and human service agencies.

American Humanics provides certification in nonprofit competencies such as fundraising, boards, development, risk management, program planning, marketing, career development and exploration, communication skills, employability skills and general nonprofit management.

At Southern Adventist University, you have the chance to develop these skills through a major or minor in nonprofit studies. An established program of five years, AH at Southern is actively involved in the local nonprofit community of Chattanooga through partnerships, volunteering, and internships.
